Immortal Xl
When our country was surrounded in the trap of Britishers, the Mohun Bagan Club defeated East Yorkshire Regiment despite playing barefoot and facing a lots of sledging ,emotional and physical hurdles. Those eleven players became immortal in the hearts of Indians and are even now worshipped by Mohunbagan Fans .A spirit of nationalism sparked throughout the country. The people were then motivated to drive away the British rule.

Mohun Bagan Ratna
If you are a Mohun Bagan fan, then 29th of July is one of the most important days in the calendar for you and no matter how busy you are, you will try your best to take out time and visit the holy club of ours.
29/07/1911 is no ordinary date. It was a day when time stood still as Abhilash Ghosh dived to score the winning header against the East Yorkshire Regiment. 11 men, 10 of whom played barefoot punched above their weight to take the British mojo to the cleaners. The fighting spirit shown by our team caused tremors in the hearts of the British Empire and is considered as a catalyst behind the oppressive rulers taking a step back and shifting the capital to Delhi as the self-belief which that win gave the people of Bengal was too hot to handle for them.

You may be a supporter of some other club but if you are a true patriot, you will stand up and salute the efforts of those 11 men who stood tall amidst torture aplenty to their near and dear ones every other day.
To commemorate the occasion this day is celebrated every year by Mohun Bagan Athletic Club as “The Mohun Bagan Day” when legends of this great club are felicitated along with the best athletes who throughout the year, bring laurels to the club which is regarded as a Temple by the fans.
The Mohun Bagan Ratna is bestowed upon an ex-player who through his game has given the club numerous occasions of joy and pride over the years.
National Leauge & I Leauge Winning Coaches
Mohun Bagan bagged their first National Football League (NFL) title in the season of 1997-98. After an intricate legal battle with the Goan side Salgaocar, the Mariners appointed former Indian star T.K. Chathunni as their Head Coach for the season. Chathunni has secured a special place in the rich legacy of Mohun Bagan, as he had guided the Green and Maroon in triumphing their maiden NFL title.
Subrata Bhattacharya, famously known as ‘Bablu da’ in Kolkata Maidan needs no formal introduction to Mohun Bagan faithfuls. A charismatic and courageous defender of his time, Bhattacharya has stood strong beside Mohun Bagan in both the glory and tough days of the club in the zenith of his football career. His shared fame with Mohun Bagan spans across his splendent coaching career too with he as the head coach of Mariners brigade in their two victorious NFL title run in the seasons of 1999-2000 and 2001-02.
Sanjoy Sen might have not attained that fame and glory in his football career but has achieved a fairly rich legacy throughout his coaching career. Sen joined Mohun Bagan as its Head Coach in 2014, in a distressed time for the entire Mohun Bagan fraternity, when the most awaited success in both regional and national level for the club was being perceived as a mirage by the most optimist mariner as well. Sanjoy Sen made the impossible possible, with Mohun Bagan climbing the unexpected heights by winning their maiden I-league title (after NFL’s rebranding as I-league in 2007) for the season of 2014-15 under his discreet managership.
Kibu Vicuna was appointed the Head Coach of Mohun Bagan in May, 2019 and soon Mariners forfeited his name in their cherished legacy to pay tribute to. The Spanish maestro and his team had secured a special place in every Mainer’s soul in the very short span of time he was associated with the team. When the all dreadful pandemic was brandishing its ominous eye, Mariners secured their second I-league title in the 2019-20 season, emanating a breeze of happiness for the Mohun Bagan loyalists.
Beleghata Mariners have invited us for taking part in the Tournament organised by them at Sarkarbari Ground. 2019 was the year when we secured the runner up position. There was only one feather left in our crown of achievements that we never held the trophy 🏆 high being champions. This is our first Championship Victory in 2021..
Joy Mohun Bagan
